Flood Lighting

There are numerous flood lighting applications from illuminating signs, carparks, sports fields through to industrial areas, ports, stockpiles and storage yards.

Quality lighting in these applications requires careful evaluation of the following:

  • LIGHT FITTING SELECTION

Selection of the most suitable light fitting for mounting heights as low as 3m and as high as 50m.

  • MOUNTING LOCATIONS

No glass lenses or reflectors can be exposed on a light fitting use in the food industry.

  • GLARE CONTROL

Control of glare from powerful and bright light sources to prevent impaired vision and temporary blindness.

  • LIGHTING LEVELS

No light above the horizontal level of the fitting. Careful selection of the light fitting type to ensure it has full cut-off and controls light spill.

  • AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS COMPLIANCE

Observation and compliance of the requirements of the Australian Standards for obtrusive lighting.

  • UNIFORMITY

Horizontal light uniformity is important and lighting designers work carefully with the Australian Standards to meet specific requirements.

  • VERTICAL ILLUMINATION

Vertical illumination to minimise hazard risk and improve the quality of lighting and visual comfort. This is often achieved without compromising obtrusive lighting standards.

  • MAINTENANCE & LONGEVITY

Long life of light sources and control gear to reduce maintenance.

  • LED SELECTION

Correct LED selection of CT (colour temperature) and CRI (colour rendering index)

  • WATER & DUST PROTECTION

Light fitting protection from water and dust ingress. IP54 and IP65 are most common requirements.

  • ENERGY SAVING OPTIONS

Selection of energy saving options such as microwave movement sensors and switching dimming sequences for daylight senses.
